During the COVID-19 pandemic, most gyms are closed, and people are looking to at home workouts to burn their calories and lose “The 2020 20” that they put on. Having an at home gym would be nice, but for most people, it’s just not a reality. Many people are dealing with limited space and limited equipment. Here are some of the easiest exercises that you can do right at home, even with limited space available.

Yoga

Yoga is great because it builds strength, increases flexibility, and establishes a mind body connection. It’s also very efficient for people with limited space because most yoga can be done right on the mat and the mat is the only equipment you need. You can find plenty of free yoga videos to stream on YouTube like this yoga for beginners video or this yoga for weight loss video.

Resistance Bands

Resistance bands are an awesome at home workout tool because they’re easy to store in a small space, but they can target many different areas of the body. You can build upper body strength, lower body strength, and even increase mobility by using resistance bands. Resistance bands work by creating resistance when your muscles pull or push against the bands. Your muscles have to engage, which tones them. Here’s a resistance band video to get you started.

Cardio

You might think it’s hard to get your cardio in without the treadmill, elliptical, or stationary bike you’re used to at the gym, but you don’t need anything to get your heart pumping and sweat going! You can do cardio easily right from your own home, even in a small space. Jumping jacks are a great form of cardio that don’t require a lot of room to move around. Burpees are a more advanced cardio exercise that also tone your muscles. Mountain climbers can be both a great ab exercise and a cardio workout.
